Great bag, one complaint August 17, 2010 Jason (Arlington, VA) I had been looking for a messenger bag for a longtime. I have a couple of backpacks and started to get tired of the way they felt on my back and how hot they were. After going to many stores, LL Bean, EMS, Dick's, REI and local outdoor stores I found this bag at Staples for $59.99 and 50% off. This is a great bag with a lot of room and a good look. Since I bring this bag to work I wanted something that looked not too casual but not too business also. This bag fit all of my requirements, but after a couple of uses there is one problem, while not a deal breaker, is annoying and will have to be fixed.
The strap is sewed in to the bag on one side and uses a plastic rectangular loop on the other side. After one use, the plastic loop rotated to the smaller side, bunching up the strap and the bag. While not life-ending it reduces the adjustability of the strap while bunched. When I get the time I will sew the bag loop closed around the plastic loop, hopefully fixing the problem.
Overall, great bag for the price!
Excellent, Versatile Bag July 7, 2010 Lynda C. Salings (East Central, MO USA) This was purchased as a Father's Day gift, and was received with rave reviews. He likes the size, the sturdy construction, and the various pockets and sections. This was a good buy, the best not-a-briefcase for a man on the move!
Great Bag at great price June 28, 2010 Donald Welch (HYDE PARK, MA, US) This bag was the perfect thing I was looking for. After having another product from this manufacturer this was a no brainer to look for this item through High Sierra as well. I will continue to support this manufacturer due to the quality of their products.
This bag really is quite large April 27, 2010 K. (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a college student in a rainy area, I really needed a water proof / resistant bag to carry my books in. This is perfect for that, my only complaint is the size. The bag is so wide that it bends around my books and binders. It actually fits me better that way, but it looks a little odd. The shoulder pad, while quite big is extremely comfortable and molds to the shape of your shoulder. The Velcro is weak, but the clasps work well and are reliable.
The color I chose (Navy, Ash, Silver, Black)looks sleek and professional, but the bag can be used for anything from carrying books to a weekend trip.
All in all, I am very happy with this purchase.
Poor Quality... April 13, 2010 RD (Chicago) This bag is everything I needed and was happy at first. But with in the first few months the bag literally started falling apart. I only use it to bring to work and some vacations but for the threading and the side pockets (for water bottles/drinks) are completely torn up.
I would say this is from wear and tear, but this poor quality bag went straight to tear.
In addition, the strap always seems to be getting knotted up. Its not a swivel, which makes it quite annoying to straighten everytime i use it.
