5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   August 24, 2010
Suzanne Mcclary (Roseville, CA)
I recently bought this shower and its worth every penny. It comes with the typical solar shower bag. After I came home from my first trip using the solar shower bag i went on a mission to build a better method so i dont have to bend over to shower. I bought a typical large container of water from the grocerty store (the long one with the handle on top and the spout on the end). I pulled out the stem from the spout, i cut off the shower spray end from the solar bag, and i inserted that into the water container spout. the container fits perfectly on the hook provided with the shower tent. I then emptied out half the water and added back hot water i heated in my camping tea kettle on the fire. wa la hot shower baby !

I received a hanging shower not the one I ordered, it would be nice to receive what I ordered..so I feel you should make the company make things right..

5 out of 5 stars Very nice   July 20, 2010
Kurt Morris (Alexandria, VA United States)
Easy setup (one person 10 minutes), sturdy, roomy. What more could one ask for in a camp shower? Although I used it exclusively for a shower, it would also work well as a changing cabana, a porta potty, or even a temporary shelter for stuff during a rain. Very glad I made this purchase.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Camp Shower   July 6, 2010
Patrick Barrett (PAW PAW, MI, US)
This was one of the best purchases of the camping season. Put up before trip,
no problems at campsite. The unit doubled as a toilet enclosure at night with
portable toilet. Big hit with the ladies...Room and lots of water very sturdy.
Of the 3 shower enclosures we have used..THIS IS THE BEST
Customer service very helpful and prompt

4 out of 5 stars Not bad for the money   June 14, 2010

I let this item sit in my cart for over a month before I decided to pull the trigger and get it. I was concerned about the reviews saying it was flimsy and easy to break. My review is based on a practice setup in my backyard, and also how it performed when I actually used it while camping.

Initial setup is pretty easy. If you have any experience setting up tents, this is a piece of cake. Put together the top portion first and then simply attach the leg and stand it up. The shelter material goes on the inside of the frame via clips (so don't try to stretch it over the outside) while the optional rain cover goes over the top and secures to the outside of the legs as well as ground stakes (optional). Based on other reviews, I decided to use the rain cover to increase stability of the unit.

Assembly is easiest with two people; you need someone on the opposite side of the unit to position the legs to make it even. On uneven ground, you can compensate somewhat by using the stakes and securing the rain cover to them, but your success will be based on how windy it is and how full your shower bladder is, which brings me to my next point, the bladder.

Filled to capacity, the shower bladder weighs 40 lbs. Keep in mind you have to lift the bladder above your head to hang it. I brought a small stool with me for this very purpose. When I did my practice setup, the weight of the bladder immediately began pulling the shelter to one side. Even when I improved on the level, I didn't feel safe standing underneath the full bladder. I don't like the attaching hooks either; the very top of the metal/composite structure is solid enough to hold the bladder directly, yet there is a hook underneath it that attaches to the outside of the canopy, which in turn has another hook on its inside (secured by stitching) that attaches to the bladder. The weakest link is the one most subject to wear and tear; in this case, the stitching. I'm simply not 100% confident it will stand up under full weight, so I used a rubber bungee cord to provide a safeguard in case it fails.

For actual use, I again used the stakes and rain cover over the top. The ground was noticeably more uneven than in my backyard, yet it seemed secure after my first attempt. I hung the shower bladder with about 3 gallons in it instead of 5 (maybe that's why). It was still standing 12+ hours later when I used it, so that was nice. You can play around with the shower floor to try to make the water flow out in a certain direction so it doesn't pool up, or just leave two corners of it unsecured and just lift it when you're done to force the standing water out. My first shower was pretty quick, mainly because there is a gap between the floor and the shower walls, allowing spiders and other intimidating things to crawl in. If it's hot outside, chances are it's going to be even hotter in the shower. My second shower at the end of the next day had water that was easily over 120 degrees (left the bag hanging in there all day). Keep in mind this is with the rain cover on, so I'm sure that contributed.

As far as little accessories and whatnot...the towel hangers are nice, but they are on the outside. The inside is so roomy, you could easily have them inside. If you're changing, there's nowhere to put anything except the floor (luckily I kept the stool in there). I would like to see the floor attach to the length of the walls via some kind of mesh material with velcro or a zipper to keep critters out.

Overall I'm happy with this purchase. Nothing broke or collapsed on me. I don't think I'll currently use this more than a few times a year. If my use increases, I would consider replacing the shower bladder with just a 5 gallon bucket and a pump/shower wand to take the pressure off the stitching and preserve its working life.
