I wasted 3 good matches trying to get this to light. I finally had to cut it up into slivers and start my fire the old fashion way. I wouldn't carry these with me on my next backpacking adventure. Gray i dont understand some peoples reviews. this is the area to review the product and the shipping cost. the reviews are only about the shipping? maybe the free shipping was not an option at the time of their reviews, but this product is currently eligible for free shipping. so the past reviews mean nothing. why amazon does not delete product reviews that do not review the product is beyond me. i think i will buy these just so i can give a review of the product, review; meaning does the product work or not? if it works does it work well? update; ok so i bought these. they are ok, not tender though. they are really just small duroflame logs. they burn well after you get them going. good for getting damp wood going, as once started they dont blow out easy and last for a good 15min +. did not check the burn time but its at least 15min. i would not use them to start a fire, your still going to need some good tender for that. but after you get a flame these are great for building/keeping a fire going. for the purpose i will keep the 5 star rating, but for use as tender(in starting a fire) they only get 1 star...hope this helps, for what its worth i will keep some of these with me on my treks.
